Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
A few years back my daughter and I visited the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington DC. This was her first visit to the memorial and she really enjoyed reading all of Dr. King’s quotes etched into the stones.
One of my favorite quotes that he not only used to say, but would also live, was:
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."
Today I thought about our visit as we commemorate Dr. King’s Birthday and his legacy. His daughter, Bernice King best describes what her father meant to many of us in a tweet that she shared on Twitter today:
