Beautiful Sunday: life by the river in monsoon season, ชีวิตในหน้ามรสุมริมแม่น้ำ

This is my entry for #beautifulsunday hosted by @ace108). This weekend the monsoon rain has come in torrents, non-stop pouring during the night. This caused some anxiety about water reaching up to the river bank.

Luckily, this past dry season has seen the river almost touching the river bed. We have managed to plant some ten tree saplings; the rain has made it much easier to dig the ground. Crazy weather has made some orchids blossom like crazy as well as the orange jasmine trees are all in white blossoms with sweet orange fragrance.

The three cats have become cheerful and feeling at ease again after two days of quiet slumber for while days. I am glad they are their normal selves again. I noticed that the smallest cat was afraid of loud thunder sounds and she sat next to Snow. Last night I went around with my torch checking on things; I found three cats sleeping on top of the refrigerator in the downstairs kitchen.

ตอนนี้เป็นช่วงมรสุมเข้าเต็มที่ ฝนตกกระหน่ำติดต่อกันมาสามวันสามคืนแล้ว นํ้าแม่โขงแดงมากและขึ้นเร็วมาก จนทำให้เราเป็นกังวลว่าระดับน้ำจะขึ้นมาถึงริมตลิ่ง แต่หน้าแล้งที่ผ่านมา นํ้าลงไปเกือบจะเดินข้ามไปฝั่งลาวได้ ก็ทำให้โล่งใจไปบ้าง ที่น่าเป็นห่วงคือคนที่อยู่ปลายน้ำในที่ตํ่าริมแม่น้ำ แต่ฝนตกทำให้เราปลูกต้นไม้ง่ายมาก พวกเราปลูกต้นไม้ไปสิบเอ็ดต้น ยังเหลืออีกสิบสี่ต้นที่ต้องหาเวลาปลูกครั้งหน้า

แล้วต้นแก้วก็พากันออกดอกพร้อมกันหมด ทำให้กลิ่นหอมไปทั่วสวน และดอกกล้วยไม้ก็ออกดอกมากมายในฤดูฝน บรรดาแมวก็เริ่มมีความรื่นเริงออกมาวิ่งเล่นทั่วสนาม และปีนต้นไม้กันเหมือนเดิม แมวตัวที่อ้วนที่สุดปีนสูงไม่ไหว มันเลยขอปีนต้นมะพร้าวแทน ดูแล้วตลกมาก พวกมันคงสงสัยว่าป้าโรซี่หายไปไหน ตอนนี้เรารู้กันแล้วว่าโรซี่ถูกรุมกัดตายที่ใต้กอไผ่กอใหญ่ที่มันวิ่งเข้าไปซ่อน เราก็ยังคิดถึงมันอยู่และแผ่เมตตาให้มันทุกวัน
