Adapun alat dan bahan yang digunakan untuk membuat fermentor adalah ember plastik dan tutupnya, lampu pijar 5 watt, termometer, soder, perekat, keranjang bambu dan aluminium foil. Bahan yang didugakan untuk diperam antara lain beras, ketan, ubi kayu atau ubi jalar.

Kemudian ember direkatkan dengan perekat. Lampu dihidupkan untuk meningkatkan suhu sedangkan fungsi termometer adalah untuk menngontrol suhu.
