Complete Negative Space Sketch by @bxlphabet
Yesterday I posted a sketch by @bxlphabet that seemed to be incomplete. This one is quite different and in this case, I think it is done as far as it ever could be.
This is a “negative space” sketch that was a focus of a project at a camp @bxlphabet attended. The idea is to show the outline of the figure and even though this is kind of strange, I think he did a very good job with it.
Do you see frustration in the outline and charcoal strokes? I do. I feel like he was trying to “get it” and rushing to make this work.
I have not heard from my son since the weekend. It is Monday morning where he is now. I am praying he takes care of business and gets his tasks done.
He is still living in the same place and for that I am very grateful. One of his friends is posting about homelessness in San Diego right now and the picture looks bleak if you are out on the streets there.
The red border was applied by me in processing.
