EOS Goes Live/ Community to Vote to Appoint 21 Block Producers.
Hi investors, a new blockchain will soon be born.

- The EOS main-net went live today as the appointed block producer (ABP) successfully mined the genesis block.
- As far as the order of event is concerned, we're now in stage 3:
Verify Snapshot & Boot: Snapshot taken and verified by EMLG and third parties.Boot process initiated.Testing: Allow time for EMLG (EOS Mainnet Launch Group - a united group of candidate block producers willing to collaborate to launch he EOS main-net) and third parties to verify that the tokens have been loaded according to the snapshot file, and that the software performs well.- Enable: Release joint statement from Block Producer community that it is safe to import private keys and vote. Voting beings.
- Activation - Declare the EOS Mainnet active.
- To validate the main-net and activate its main function, a minimum of 15% of the community is now required to vote to appoint 21 block producers who will be responsible for securing the blokchain in place of the ABP. Already it seems like the community has started to mobilize and you can track live voting status here and here.
- However some dissenting voices have also started to speak out against the secrecy of the election, calling it centralized and opaque due to the fact that votes will be logged on a private server and tallied under the sole discretion of the ABP (which identity remains secret):
- Nonetheless, if you wish to participate in the vote you can do so via Scatter and consult the list of main Block Producers here:
- It's going to be quite interesting to see how the price of EOS will react to a successful activation, particularly within this broader bearish market. If Bitcoin keeps breaking down further and drags the whole cryptoverse with it, that might be your chance to play the dip buy game and scoop up some tokens for cheap.
