Looking for EOS Wallets

in #eos6 years ago (edited)

Hey folks,

eye-1173863_1920.jpg

I am looking to check out my EOS tokens and am wondering what sort of wallet to use.

Is there an official one from block one? Or is this the sorta thing a block producer is creating?

Also I have no clue what block producer to upvote just yet.

I would be curious to hear if you have voted and for who and what sort of wallets you guys are using and why

Maybe you should check out this post on Finder:

I had some trouble voting but I plan to vote for EOSNewYork. They have been engaging the community since as far back as March and have provided helpful resources/tips (for example generating a keypair with source code offline).

They have a white list of wallets/applications that might be helpful to you (Note I am not a tech expert and can't guarantee security of any of these):

I found greymass's eos-voter light desktop wallet to be safe and easy to use.
Download from here. It was recommended by multiple block producers.

I love EOS stuff from the cryptoverse on youtube, he is super knowledgable and in his last videos, he explains his BP votes. I think he is connected to @marketingmonk on Steemit, also super EOS info.
As far as wallets are concerned, it will come from BP's, the most used voting tool is also kind of wallet. Can't recall the name now... :-(
Anyway, one BP has put a 100K bounty on wallet development, i am waiting on something more solid. I am using scatter for voting as it is a very good choice for other future uses on EOS chain, a bit like Metamask for Ethereum. Not the easiest one though..

Greymass is name of most easy tool

There is no official wallet from b1 other than a command line tool, which requires you to have the whole eos.io software installed.
There are two options I can name right away:
https://walleteos.com/login
http://scattellet.com/
The first allows private key (insecure online) both allow to use scatter a popular eos chrome extension... In an older post i have listed a few more options but never looked at them properly: https://busy.org/@conceptskip/the-known-eos-voting-portals-and-wallets

I am also looking to learn more about EOS. Some suggest to use exodus https://www.exodus.io/ and myetherwallet. Maybe you could look into these.

Was this not for the eth tokens?

So much interesting post on EOS. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I could help, but I'm not on EOS, I hope you get answers to your questions.

Gute Frage!

@knircky has set 1.000 STEEM bounty on this post! logo_for-light-bg_1000.png
What is a bounty exactly?

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Read more about how it works, even in different languages here.

Congratulations to the following winner(s) of the bounty!

  • @bubke has earned 0.090 STEEM. 0.090 STEEM from the creator of the bounty and 0.000 STEEM from the community!
