Start an EOS Meetup in your area
EOS Meetups are quickly growing in popularity globally and many have reached out to us about starting an EOS Meetup in their local community. It is very important to us that we help continue to build an environment where people of all expertise can come together through shared interests in the EOS.IO software and what it can do.

Starting a Meetup is a great way to tailor the discussion to your community’s needs, while getting the chance to meet people with the same interests face to face. If you’d like to create an EOS Meetup in your community, there are a few simple steps you can take to get involved:

  1. Join https://www.meetup.com and fill in the necessary details about yourself and your interests.

  2. Click Create a Meetup and choose your location.

  3. Choose EOS as a topic related to your Meetup. This will link you to the EOS topics page (https://www.meetup.com/topics/eos), which will allow others to easily locate you when they want to find a Meetup in their area.

  4. Name your Meetup group. Keep it simple so people can find your group when they search (example: EOS London). You’ll also need to fill out a description of your Meetup Group.

  5. Invite people to join and create Meetup events within your group on desired topics.

Calgary EOS Meetup!

https://www.meetup.com/EOS_Calgary/

50+ members and I will hold a hackathon.

1000+ members and we will invite @dan to Calgary.

November 11th will be the first meetup.

Still the downvotes lol :)

Yeah why is that..? Does EOS really deserve to get flagged like that? There isn't even a payout so it seems kinda redundant to flag them.

Its a vendetta

A very petty one, at that.

At least its creating some animo. But ok it immediately went too far with swearing. Catfucker : do people really use that word :)

Self important children with little else to do of value do :)

New rich people. You can take the boy out of kindergarten... :)

...But not the kindergarten out the boy!

Jealous ETH and NEO blockchainers for sure 😀

Crazy. Its like kindergarten, only ... worse :)

Actually it looks like it all started with ned:

When i brought it up though he simply asked me if i was threatening him....

Hey Ned, RTFM... It's called Mute.

EOS arouses fear. Dan is again several years ahead of the competition

Is there any way you can explain the controversy behind the haters though? A lot of people claim that the token could be useless in the future since it's Ethereum-based? And also there was some initial confusion that it would be a Blockchain but it's instead a system which Blockchains can be built on?

I'm a big fan of everything @dan has done; I believe he has the "Midas Touch" 💥👀

And you can tell his heart is in the right place, since all of his past projects are 100% FREE to use!

The token is a place holder. You map that with EOS and you're good to go on launch. Don't fall for the FUD ;-). Lots of shakey hands and scared people out there in the world who don't want their baby Ethereum to be dwarfed. I mean, I respect Ethereum, but EOS is the intelligent evolution of what it tried to be.

Check this out: https://steemit.com/eos/@sandwich/the-most-important-eos-public-key-to-an-ethereum-address

Yeah lol I feel like EOS is the most-FUD'ed Coin right now, and the irony that they would try to FUD @dan 's work, EOS, on @Steemit, .... I just think that's superrrrrr fuckin ironic and lame. People should take the hating to the lame-stream social medias like FB and Reddit 😄

Fud'ers are probably so stupid that they aren't able to read couple of sentence on eos.io about how the distribution works or someone paid them to maintain fud and price low. At the moment EOS has 104 times smaller marketcap then ETH, and probably EOS have ~46,666 times more bandwidth then ETH (700,000 tps vs. 15 tps )

You will find all at https://eos.io/

telegram channel: https://t.me/EOSproject

in brief.
You have to generete EOS key pair and stick your ETH address to this new EOS key

is worth to read and find out more about it

https://steemit.com/eos/@sandwich/how-to-check-which-eos-public-key-is-mapped-to-your-eth-address-with-myetherwallet-mew

Wowwww that is really awesome 😄 46,000X as much bandwidth... Just wow. Lol yeah I'm not a Fud'er, I'm just curious why people have been hating so much. And like you said, they probably are either getting paid to or just ignorant...

I'm curious though, everybody always compares EOS to only ETH but EOS is also going to be competing with all of them, like Waves, Stratis, NEO, CounterParty, etc?

EOS is platform – decentralized operating system for decentralized applications. It is far more then just a coin.
1 000 000 000 EOS = 100% computation power in EOS ( OS / Cloud )
The more EOS you have, the more your app computation power can use. I think you can not call this coin, is more like resources. So if you sell EOS, you sell resources, and if you buy EOS, you buy resources in decentralized operating system.

Do your own research.

Yeah I didn't say EOS was just a coin. I didn't say that. I said that the EOS token was the most FUD-ed coin. No need to get all defensive or anything. Like I said, I'm a big fan... Didn't mean to offend you or anything 😂😏

I like to jokingly refer to it as the good version of "Skynet."

Decided to bootstrap a EOS meetup in the SF Bay Area... https://www.meetup.com/EOS-SF-Bay

Question for the EOS.IO people - I paid my first 6 months of Meetup fees out of pocket as I'm sure many others have - it would be great if you set aside a few EOS to compensate us.

There is one in London on Tuesday with Dan speaking - see meetup here:

https://www.meetup.com/EOS/events/243160802/

Looks very popular!

Great way to link brain power

Shoutout to the London Meetup!

I'm glad I noticed this. I was already having a meetup to discuss STEEM, BTS, and EOS. Thanks for the resources. Here is the meetup I started http://meetu.ps/c/3mXC1/B0s3P/f we just added EOS to our official topics to make it easier for people to find us.

This is the first time I've seen a post which declines payouts. Not bad!

All the EOS posts that I have seen have declined payout. They have a huge war chest of ETH worth hundreds of millions, they can afford to decline a few hundred $.

Maybe they could donate the payout to charity such as Red Cross. That would be great. I wouldn't be such a vast amount of money, but hopefully others would follow their example.

Or use it to refund the Meetup fees for organisers.

Yes, that's another good use of the post awards.

If they decline payouts it means that all other posts on steemit get a tiny more payouts. Declining payouts does not go to waste.

they own steemit and always decline payouts

I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!
