Beton merupakan dalah satu material struktur yang gunakan untuk menahan kuat tekan pada beton itu sendiri yang begitu kuat dan pada tegangan tahan tariknya lemah. Maka untuk mendukung kekuatannya dari beban yang dimbulkan pada gaya tarik pada sebuah struktur beton dipasang baja tulangan yang dirakit membentuk seperti balok, kolom, pelat dan lain sebagainya. Bahan material yang bersifat baja merupakan jenis logam dengan harga yang mahal untuk memperolehnya karena membutuhkan produksi teknologi.
Pada kasun ini mencoba menggantikan material baja ke bahan alami yang bersiafat bambu sebagai tulangan pada struktur bangunan.
