Em dropped a surprise album

in #eminem4 years ago (edited)

I wasn't originally going to post about it, as big of a fan as I am, there were already a few posts out there that I happened to curate. As I dug deeper into it though it reminded me of a post I wrote here a few weeks ago and just wanted to share that with you but also really recommend you give it a listen if you're into that kind of music. The production was really great, awesome features and some sick beats.

One song I'd recommend giving a listen to would be Darkness, this one particularly I'd recommend first listening without watching the music video and then after checking out the music video as well as it'll be more powerful this way imo and I'm glad I happened to miss the release of it as it was released on his youtube 2h before the album dropped on Spotify:

The outro of the song especially reminded me of this post that I wrote a few weeks ago if you happaned to read it I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm talking about and what I'm sure Em means with the outro. I won't write much more in case you're reading through this without having listened or being able to listen to the song right now so go do that!

Another great song from the album I really got into so far was Godzilla featuring Juice Wrld:

RIP Juice Wrld who died recently from seizure induced by substance intoxication. He died at an airport, and this is not confirmed just something I heard - apparently to not get caught with pills on him he had swallowed them. Again, this is not something that's confirmed but even if that's a possibility and something that one could consider doing just because the repercussions of being caught with drugs are so much harsher that you'd risk your life tells you there is something wrong with the system in the first place. Glad he got to record a song with Em even if he wasn't around to experience the release.

Song was really great and Em goes ballistic in it, definitely give it a listen as well!

That's deep and scary mate. The system should be looking to help people facing addiction problems. Instead, it is designed to ruin their lives further.

On another note, the album is crazy fire! Dude at 46 years of age is better than ever.

Damn ! He keeps reinventing himself. Godzilla really was good :)

That track is 🔥

I literally just have it a listen today when I found it on Apple Music! Dudes still got it done of the lines are killer,

His got butter fingers because his always dropping them hits on us! Might not get radio play but sure hip hop heads will appreciate a true talent and legend of the game

My #1 rapper! The #king 😎 didn’t like the ending about gun control... should be directed toward to mental illness 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah I listened to darkness a few days ago. Definitely a powerful song. Didn't listen to the other one until I saw it on your post.

I'm tired of the war on drugs. It's crazy how many people are serving life sentences for non-violent crimes and it's all to make sure we keep the jails full and the corporations that own them profitable.

Gun control, on the other hand, is a much trickier subject. It sucks when mass shootings happen, but there has to be some sort of happy medium between completely banning them and finding a better way at keeping them from those who are mentally unstable/criminals.

I listened to the album the day it dropped and really enjoyed "Darkness". Haven't watched the video yet but will do some day soon.

Do it! :D

Awesome man I dig it! As a 31 year old I grew up listening to the full Eminem Show album every night so I really like the vibe on this one 🤘😝

Wow learning everything new from this blog !

Is it the system to be blamed,or the fact he was trying to smuggle drugs? Do we blame all the shootings on the system or is there more to it? Em is great, ive been rocking since 1st couple albums. Everyone wants to get a piece of the political action, he was always a part of culture. I just think should be more accountability on juices actions. He was coming up in the scene, probably had more money than a lot of us. He chose to crave more it seems, and got busted. Surely the system can use tweaks, i think people will keep pushing to nake things better.

Surely he wasn't trying to make more money from smuggling/selling drugs lol. I'm sure it was for personal use.

Lots of b.s tho man. Lets rise up, be bosses for ourselves, and jam some Em.

I like how he took one of greatest songs of all time by Simon and Garfunkel, Sound of Silence, and made a rap song of the beat.
