There will never be a better time to tell Elon Musk about Steemit

Twitter is ablaze on Elon Musks idea of creating a sort of Yelp for journalists. I personally think it's a short-sighted idea, but Elon did mention the root cause of the untrustworthy-journalism problem he's trying to address:

It's the problem of centralization. It's the problem that media is backed by advertising dollars, people don't want to pay for news, and so media is all about collecting eyeballs.

The more eyeballs you get, the more money you make. So I'm sure even "good" journalists get corrupted into being "bad" journalists.

What Elon doesn't seem to realize is that there's another way to fix these economics. That is with blockchain-based media like Steemit.

As you know, with Steemit, the value created by writers and readers gets distributed equitably. It eliminates many of the problems of centralization. It reduces the friction that keeps centralized models from compensating all of the players for their contributions.

I have tweeted at Elon. At the moment, it's probably lost in the chaos.

Let's see if we can get Elon to pay attention to Steemit. Here's what you can do:

• Like and/or Retweet my response to Elon.
• Respond to Elon's tweet about pressure on journalists, to tell him to look at Steemit.

What else? I'd love to hear your ideas. There will never be a better time to tell Elon Musk about Steemit.
