Phoenix. Sketch.

in #elegance6 years ago

Hello friends! I want to share my new sketch, it's a phoenix. This is a mythical creature, and I think in many fantasy films they were shown, they have an interesting ability.

I painted it with pens. I think it will be in color!

The phoenix bird is a symbol of eternal rebirth, a mythical creature that burns and rises from the ashes.

According to legend, there is a bird from Ethiopia, and the name was given to the Assyrians. In the drawings, the Phoenix appears in the form of a fairy bird: the cock of a rooster, the throat of a swallow, the tail of a fish, the neck of a snake, the forehead of a crane, the back of a turtle, and the head of a duck. The feathers of the bird are five colors: blue, red, yellow, white and black. Each color symbolizes one of the virtues: duty, loyalty, knowledge of ceremonies, decency and philanthropy. Since the origin of the Phoenix is inseparable from fire and sun, the bird symbolizes warmth and a good harvest.

Phoenix is the embodiment of charity and kindness. He does not eat insects, his food is the seeds of bamboo. Drinks Phoenix only from a pure spring. According to some legends the bird lives 500 years, on the other - 1460 or even 12954 years. Ancient Jews believed that Phoenix gained longevity due to the fact that he refused to eat the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.

Living to the advanced age, and anticipating its end, the bird arranges a nest of rare herbs (aloe, myro, coffee). The nest is self-igniting, and Phoenix burns down with it. After a while, a creature appears from the ashes, similar to a young salamander or a snake. Gradually the creature again turns into a regenerated Phoenix.

According to another version, Phoenix inhales the aromas of herbs, and dies. From his seed a nestling is born, which in the egg carries the body of Phoenix from Arabia to Iliopol for burial in the temple of Ra. Another source claims that Phoenix arrives in Iloli himself. Here the local priests burn it in incense. A caterpillar appears from the ashes, which then turns into a bird.

In the mythology of the Slavs, the Finish-Clear Falcon and the Firebird became the analogue of the Phoenix. On early Christian gravestones, one can also find pictures of Phoenix as a symbol of Christ's rebirth and victory over death.

I like this drawing! I think it's interesting how the parts outward from the center aren't connected. This is unique and catches my eye. Great work! :)
