start learning today, step at a time

the last time i coded anything was about six years ago, everything has changed, it’s hard to know where to start but i kinda understand the principles but all these frameworks, api’s and addons are gonna melt my brain, i know i’m gonna have to get help to realise some of my coding dreams, i’m looking for both help and a teacher of the how.

yep, i’ve got the framework installed, basic test application up and running and i’ve found what looks like a great newbie starting tool called photokit, i know i’m going to need a modern editor that supports the stylesheet formats which seem to have totally changed since i did any css. also we have node.js, i’ve never touched any javascript so that’s going to be an uphill battle for me too. that always scared me, maths but i’m will to learn.

i know what i want to build out to start with maybe not be complicated for some but even a basic desktop application with a basic inferface to query a wordpress blog (nomad.pictures) for pictures and show categories is going to be a challenge. i’ve got to learn how to interface with wordpress, make an api or use the existing api/activate it on my installation and then build code to bring those results into my electron window app. i know i’ve probably bitten off more than i can chew so i’m gonna start with designing the interface first - it’s gonna be ultra basic, simple and start from there.

time to start sketching out that interface right? wish me luck! :)
