splurge - (v)

Meaning:

To spend lavishly.

In Part:

spl + urge

splash + surge

This is a word combining two words into one: Splash and Surge. Literally, this means “splashing” out money in a “surging” way.

Examples:

  1. Splurge on a trip to Paris.

  2. Splurge lots of money on celebration.
