If you wondered what the trending tags in Steemit are here they are.

Still on top #dtube, followed by #sct, #threespeak, #photography, #steem offcourse, #art more than divers for all you arty artists and #travelfeed. As I said this morning the pitch at Steemfest by @jpphotography was great and i guess all the hard work is paying off being number 8 in the list.

In the steemterminal we daily answer questions with a Staff team and I decided to share some off the questions with you I my series TERMINAL TALK This question was from a new steemian that posted a blog with 3 tags and asked in a DM why the blog wasn’t visited much. Offcourse we have this question in #answers-to-questions in the discord terminal house too. But not all of you arrived in or steemterminal yet so here it is again.

Tags are very important to gain visibility. There are a lot of tags available and the topic of your blogs decides what tag is useful. For example if you join in the #ZAPFIC contest by @felt.buzz it will be wise to use CONTEST but also WRITING and FREEWRITE or BLOGGING are possible.

When you have a photo blog about some beautiful flowers in your garden or from your trip to a nice city, use #FLOWERS, #GARDEN #TRAVELFEED or STEEMITWORLDMAP . The first tag is for the main category of your blog and remember you have A MINIMUM OF 5 tags to use under your blog. ( that was 5 untill recently , not anymore its 8 now )

Please visit us, when you need help, it’s the fastest way to fly of to a bright future in the steemisfere, and no steem, upvote or resteem needed.

Come join us in discord https://discord.gg/JgA7Fy

And please follow the @steemterminal, @heyhaveyamet and @steem-aide isn’t free and we will keep you up to date through your own feed.

About 2 years ago I’ve written about the ‘best’ time to submit a blogpost so you’ll receive worldwide exposure. I came up with the term 4 o'clocky and I thought this might be a great idea to make a blogpost every day at 4 o'clock local time with this title. Every day I’ll submit a blogpost about something that keeps me busy, a challange, a contest or something important enough to share so Lets blog on and See you every day here at 4 !

to learn more about either of these projects, please visit: @steem-aide @steemterminal

Thanks for stopping by, its appreciated
And remember Focus on Being creative instead of Being busy !

This is a great post. People need to discuss and contemplate tags a lot more.

I like seeing average comments per post. It's worth considering that some tribes just auto-comment whenever you tag and encourage their members to do the same (lovely SPAM). Also, if you don't use their platform to post, they don't reward you as much.

I'm worried about tag abuse. If it isn't relevant people shouldn't tag it just to get some reward or something popular. Those tribes like palnet are okay because that's their aim (I cringe when people go overboard though), but tagging things like Steem when it isn't about Steem come to mind (this post is about using steem so it's good).

The newest thing I despise is hashtag abuse, to give out $#!t reward tokens. These explain around 50% or more comments on a lot of posts. Some even disguise themselves as low brow curation which is cute.

I have a new theory about tagging. Make the first 2 specifics (tags, tagging, trending-tags, tag-tutorial) and the other 3 more general categories (tutorial, steem, community). After 5 it doesn't matter so put the associative tags there(PHC, marlians, planet, whatever).

The reason for the 2 tags being specific is because you will probably own the trending page in that category for a long time on Steem and better yet maybe even Google or other search engine. Don't get to dumb and tag something no one will search for like fhnwuioahfoiahfoaw.

For example, I tagged jeonse, buyeo and baekje recently (I'm not sure if anyone on steem ever uses these). Also, if you do forward on Twitter, Reddit, Facebook or whatever, your chances trending there and climbing in the search ranks go higher and higher again (onboarding and cross-platform potential).

This was a blog that had to be done ! Every single day we tell the new arrivals that come in steemterminal that it’s very important to use the right tags to get noticed in the right group. But that said its not normal what people try to do but also some tag that are made up, but if they don’t exist in the tag list its a waste. But since the token and tribe use, its changed and not for the better, but that new steem for now. And i agree 4 topic related tags and 4 tribe or tokens is i think the best way to go.
Have a great weekend

Great information! Going to have to look closer at the order of our tags.

Yes it might change the Pifc too , #cc commentcoin is maybe a great one to add and 8 Tag is great to have so use them wise

@abotcoinsceptic maybe I should open an account tagpolice or tagadvice with a bot because there can be made so much change

Policing actifit would be a fulltime job. They allow people to use something like 30 tags.

I've got a set number of tags that I usually use - photography is often one of them - and the others on that list are not. That might explain a few things. :)

Well yes it does, try to be diverse and maybe use a different first tag every blog that way you are seen in different groups instead only in photography. And you have 8 choose them wise

I am going to review your tags right now and see .....

Thank you so much for sharing this guide for us! May you have a great day!

The tag use is so important , if you use the right tags that way you will atrrack more people to your lovely writing

I learned all of this on my own, just by looking at other people's posts. It's nice that you are helping newbies so they don't have to waste as much time as I did, figuring this stuff out! 😁

And when we started I think it was somewhat easier 😬

This is truly a topic people need to look closer at. There are people out there that are curating certain tags and want relevant information to those tags (beware if you tag something incorrectly as downvotes are free flowing these days).

Yes that’s what we see in the newbie category they use tags that are not great or totally wrong yet this blog doesn’t do it very good not very many Resteems or comments unfortunately
