Yes another big question from @eco-alex, maybe not as controversial as some of the others, but then again that depends on how you view the world and how you wish to co-exist with others. I could give a very short answer to this question. Because at the end of the day, we are such a hugely diverse group of people living on the earth, that is it even possible for everyone to feel like they are being truly represented by people who wish to guide.

So Straight up, I do not like the idea of leaders, in order for us to move forward we need to be finding ways to move away from any sort of hierarchy. I do not see people who provide guidance as anyway in the same league as those who wish to lead. Leaders in my experience have a little too much ego going on for my liking. So leave the ego at the door please.

Is it not better to aim for people to take responsibility for their own lives, their own actions. In an ideal world we would all strive to work together to create a better world, to create a world where we co exist as equals with all living things. There would be no place for dominance or manipulation, there would only be space for mutual acceptance and respect. But how do with get to that, is it even possible?

Is it possible to get each person to take responsibility for their actions?

If we look far enough back in history, at a time when we, were all living in tribes, we would have had elders that guided us and help to maintain a certain level of coherence within the tribe. Everyone would also have had very clear ideas of who they were and what their responsibilities were, everyone had their place and their purpose. I believe that, that would have worked quite well, with most feeling content and everyone working in harmony with the earth. There would have been a much larger amount of respect and appreciation for all life. When we are living closer to the land we are more aware of the natural cycles that occur, our survival depended on it. Our knowing and understanding of the land and the seasons was so much greater and we really saw first hand the consequences of all our actions.

But we are not living in those times anymore, yes there are some who continue to live close to the land, but not all of them are living in harmony with it. We do not live in tribes, but are spread out all over the world. Having elders to guide us would not work in the same way, because life has become a lot more complicated and things are progressing very quickly, how can we expect the elders within our society to be aware of all the changes that are happening and to have all the solutions. Part of me would love to say that we need to return to our true roots, that time before farming and the industrial age took over. But our past is exactly were it needs to be, we need to learn from it and create anew.

Because that is what life is all about, creation.

We can look to the past for inspiration, but we can not return there. Our time right now on the earth is completely different, we are completely different, yes we have witnessed so much destruction and abuse and dominance, but we have also witnessed the power of people coming together. We are connected now in ways, that we have never been before. We are a global community and we can contact one another, at the touch of a button, this brings with it the potential to create something wonderful. We can see it already on steemit and within the different communities being formed on here. At the end of the day if we look to certain types of people to guide us, then they will only guide us within that framework of their chosen identity. That is too small minded for me. We need diversity in order to thrive, just look to nature to see the proof of that and we are more diverse than ever before.

We need to find a way to create a world that embraces all the diversity of life.

And that would not happen if we chose only one type of people to guide us. So I say no, no, no and no, to this week's EcoTrain question of the Week. There can never be any one type of people that can guide us. True there is something to learn from everyone , be it something positive or negative and we need to learn both, in order to move forward. We can not continue to repeat the same mistakes, looking to certain types of people to solve our problems, we need to look to ourselves and take responsibility for our own actions.

We need more awareness, more interaction, we need to find more ways to empower one another. And that my friends is already happening, and we are part of it on this blockchain, so many different types of people coming together and sharing and learning together. Yes I might sound very optimistic, but come on we have to be, this is our chance to create something new. We should all be very excited and proud of what we have achieved and what we can achieve.
