Awesome idea and great post laying it all out :) I love the ingenuity home-steaders bring to everyday problems. Reminds me of small farmers a generation ago. They were all the time coming up with creative ways to deal with problems and cobbling together solutions with what they had on hand. A little baling wire, some parts from a broken down piece of equipment that you kept in the back of the barn for just this type occasion, and the power take off on your tractor could accomplish anything, So many people moved off farms in the last 50-75 yrs. Awesome to see people moving back to the land.
Thanks - there's usually an easier way that takes much less energy - lots of fun trying to find that way. It's great having that 12 volt battery in the tractor like that - add an inverter and it's backup generator :)
