Consumer Confidence is Falling - Are People Waking Up?

Stocks and "soft data" continue to move up, or at least that has been the case for months now. However, the true performance of the economy stands in stark contrast to that bullishness. Is soft data finally rolling over, and catching up (down?) with economic reality? Are people finally waking up?
