An earthquake of 7.3 magnitude, tsunami alert issued in Peru

A powerful earthquake struck Saturday in southern coastal Peru. The magnitude 7.7 earthquake on the Richter scale was 12 km southwest of Pukio city, 10 kilometers deep above the surface.

According to various media reports, at 4:18 pm local time, the tremor hit the strong. Soon after this, tsunami alert was issued in the surrounding areas. There is no immediate description of any casualties or losses.

The US Geological Survey (USGA) said the earthquake monitoring and survey agency said that tsunami could occur around the epicenter.
Meanwhile, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that the seismic tsunami is expected to be in the sea within 300 kilometers of its center. The Mediterranean Mediterranean Tsimmological Center (EMMSC) said that around ten million people live in all areas of the Peruvian coast of Peru, where the strong earthquake has been felt.
Note that there are numerous volcanoes in the Pacific Ocean area where Peru is located. For this reason, geologists call it 'fireball'. The entire year is in the vicinity of volcanic eruptions and severe earthquake.
