Homemade Laundry Detergent!

in #dtube6 years ago

Hey Ya'll!

This is my go-to detergent for the time being. I haven't found anything I like better.
Here it is!
1/2 Box Super Washing Soda
1/2 Box or 3-4 cups of Baking Soda
1/2 Container of Oxi-Clean Free
2 bars of shredded Dr. Bronner's Lavender Soap

Mix it all together and Wa La! This makes about a gallon and a half of detergent. Hope you Enjoy!

I use the baking soda for everything too, I have the same problem measuring stuff, it's annoying haha. I love your DIYs what a good idea to put it in the food processor! Watch your fingers! I always wondered how to do that.

I realized after I did it it looks like I'm going to chop my fingers off lol I don't know why I didn't use the thing it came with to push it down. Oops! 😬

I wonder if this would work in a high efficiency washing machine? I used to just use baking soda but wasn't sure if it would wreck the machine so now I use nothing😭 Lol I do hang all my clothes outside and I feel that the fresh air and sunshine disinfects and cleans clothes like nothing else!

Yes it does! That's what I have!

howdy @thefarmerswife!! dang you guys make EVERYTHING don't you?
you don't need no stores! just go to town a couple times a year. lol.
great job!

Thanks! Not everything....but I'm overly aware what we put in and on us. The skin is the largest organ and there's so much crap out there. Hoping it's nothing I do that causes my kiddos any harm. Thanks for your support!

cause your kids harm? uh ya'll are doing a fantastic job of setting a great example, teaching them, training them..I don't want to get overly disgustingly complimentary but you know what I mean.lol
God bless!

This is nice.. full natural..which is environment friendly. Love this..

muy bueno ya aqui en Venezuela nos ha tocado elaborar todo artesanalmente saludos buen post

Gracias! Glad you liked it!

Nice! I used Charlie's for a while, but I have a daughter with a special diet that requires extra fat, so lots of grass fed butter & coconut oil leads to lots of stains. Charlie's didn't cut it and I sadly went back to All Free & Clear, which isn't really free or clear, but that's another post. You guys are fans of butter too, right? What do you use for the oil stains?

We are fans of butter and coconut oil but all my wee ones are 5 and up so I don't have the stains. But I do have mud and manure! I have a stain remover I made. Peroxide, Castile soap, lemon EO

Sounds like you've got the recipe for a new post! 😉

Thanks for the helpful info dude :)
