Steemit for Content Creators | #ep6 | Being part of the Community!
i've been part of many different 'communities' online in my time and they all seem to have different variables.
the way the platform works, or what it expects can be radically different from one to another. i've also found that we have also gotten used to often poor quality of connection and exchange on these platforms. for instance, on youtube as a non popular channel like mine which is really just a dumping ground for videos i want to put on the web rather than a 'show' i get spam and people using my comments to push people to their videos. other youtubers get GREAT comments and compassionate people taking part in their 'community' or at least becoming a person that follows them, i guess like a membership, please like the output of what they do and want to see more -- i realise my 'content' is not up to spec on youtube -- and that's ok! :)
ever since starting in the steemit community in the last eight months i had some rocky starts as well, i really didn't know how to use the platform well, it had new things to learn and for the first time i could actually see financial values next to the things that i did which was super odd for me being in social media type websites for nearly a decade -- twitter has never paid me anything, neither has facebook. so what is this i thought? some kind of pyramid scheme where ultimately i lose out?
in fact, steemit has been quite the opposite. i can't explain that feeling of watching your steem power rise, doing a power down (most people say don't so if you don't have too, don't! HODL for the win!) and convering that to bitcoin sending to a digital wallet and having a virtual credit card attached to that to load up my amazon account with a gift card, it feels like magic! and it works, time after time, it really is amazing.
i hope this video gives you a bit more insight of what it takes to be part of the community (from my perspective) as a media maker (content creator) here on steemit. it certainly needs passionate and creative makers here to amplify the awesome community that steemit has built up in the last 20 or so months since i wrote this post. in about three weeks time i'll be heading to steemfest 2. i won a ticket to go and I'm super excited to meet all the other steemians that i know and love through this platform. it's a big deal because i've not had a real 'break' this year so it's gonna be fantastic to spend some time with @dayleeo there as well.
online makes so much more sense when you do the offline and it often hightens the connection between people when you have that 'analog' interaction as i call it. we are human beings after all not just data packets being crafted by AI! at least, not yet! :) enjoy it while we can, the presence of another human being. write your blog posts with empathy and compassion, write from the heart, share, engage in a proper dialog with a remote audience and ask questions. it make seem overwhelming and intense to get started in the steemit universe but trust me we have everyone here, you are one of nearly 400,000 people who have signed up so far on the platform - you can find your tribe here! :)
the st33m amplify project is an effort to bring vloggers, content creators, youtubers and to bring in general the bloggers of the world into steem and show them they can add steemit to their income streams and have a more open, ad-free experience and share the wealth of their own successes over here on the platform instead of a centralized blog that currently pays them little adsense or nothing at all.

I’ve just joined steemit a couple of days ago and it’s been great! I also tried to make a youtube channel many times but I always gave up because of the lack of activity on my channels. Here I get great comments on almost all my posts and they are good too!
