Wheelchair rugby is one of the best sport for quadriplegias, in Singapore we started not long ago, and it was less than 3 years ago. Formerly known as murder ball, it combines elements of wheelchair basketball and rugby, and is the only wheelchair sport that is a contact sport for highly disable people. As a man it is very fun to play like real sport for quadriplegias.
It is special design for quadriplegias person, because we cannot play most of the sports like other disable person. As for my personal feeling, I like the sport very much. But it need a lot of money to play this sports. Basically we need a rugby chair for each player which is cost about S$ 3500.
Not only this, each training, we always damage our chair and maintenance of the chair is very high. So we do need high sponsor to maintain our training and chair to get ready all times.
For the high level, they have their personal chair to suit their chair and they can train even when they are free. So that their result can be world class level to compete world cup.
Secondly we need transport to go and come back for our team training. And also to get the courts to book is also not that cheap for such a disable person’s daily income.
Because our life to survive for daily is we need regular income. As a highly disable person to get a stable job is not an easy task for nowadays.
Hope we can improve a little by little to get generous person to sponsor our team and players. Wish all the business owner to sport us and their business to grow fruitfully by sponsoring our team.
