I have often thought about taking a break a break, never about quiting though. However, I begin to remember the potential the ecosystem has and I believe that risk/reward is attractive to invest time and effort to build a brand as at the end it is your no matter were it is geographically or digitally.

I wish I knew how to take a break. So much time on my hands now.

10 months ago when I joined it was even worse. And you know what I did.. I decided to make some crazy fun content and share it here on the blockchain! Guess what happened? People acted like I was nuts haha.. but I made so much noise metaphorically that they had to listen to what I was saying.. and the fun and joy I was sharing. There was also this pretentious mentality of "your lighting has to be this, your audio has to be that" so many anal comments, and anal mentality it was very off putting.. but seeing that there was a massive niche here for fun content that no one was filling.. I grabbed hold of it and ran! And you know what.. it is the best thing I could have done.. I tuned out the anal attitudes who could not enjoy all the fun I was sharing because they were too concerned with what tripod I was holding.. or if my angle was right.. I think creating should be like dancing.. if a dancer is too much in their head they will appear stiff and robotic when they dance.. but when you dance with passion from the soul.. that is something magical.. I create what I want to see.. I create with passion, and from my heart... and frankly all the non stop crypto talk bores the hell out of me :P

Glad I am not alone!!

The presumption is that quality will bring people to the blockchain but I think fun is the most marketable thing on the internet. I hope we can balance things here. Well I think dtube is doing just that. Thanks for commenting

For sure I mean no one is saying to create low or poor quality videos.. but if you look at the most viral content on YT it is not million dollar productions.. most are home made.. also quality is in the eye of the beholder.. look at YouTube Rewind... a multi million dollar production with the best cameras.. drones, and even starring Will Smith!! But look at the down votes on it? It is about connecting with the audience.. you can not buy authentic engagement.. and being genuine can not be purchased in any store.. people think a high end camera = quality. I have news.. it does not :P

It is only half of the battle.. but the most important is to be original, authentic.. and passionate!

Talk soon sweetie!! <3

proof you can not buy quality

quality comes from the heart...

I understand what you're saying here nonsowrites. Steem has become somewhat of an echo chamber recently, where 90% of the content creators are talking about steem related subjects.

I come from a creative writing background and have recently started producing mainly vlogs on dtube. I completely understand how difficult it is to get in front of the camera but as you say in your vlog, if you keep trying you will improve.

As to the steem fatigue... Rather than give up completely maybe try just producing a little less. Many people will be like... 'just smash it and keep on blog/vlog daily' but the reality is when we burn out the quality goes down. And I'm talking about my own experience here. Better to produce 3 or 4 good content per week than 7 mediocre.

I hope this helps 🙂

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me, I appreciate. Lol, I wish I could take your advice, just made 3 videos today (yet to post them). It's just the thing about having extra time, you need to fill it with activities. I am thinking about going back to reading books like I used to and replenishing the lost energy.

Yikes, that timeline looked very...uninspiring. Everything was Steem/Steem Monsters.

I know right. But we are trying to stay motivated. Dtube has become my new hub

To be honest, i am not thinking so much about.content creation these days. I think we all need to build this place up before we expect good content to appear. I want to create a new voting system that should change the behaviour of people so that people are incentized to create good content as a opposed to gaming the system. Perhaps there is something you can do to that will enrich this place.

Oh sweetheart, do not give up. I enjoy your dtubes and i think, once you find that confidence and your "voice", you will do AMAZING things.

As for the everything steem and crypto being discussed, we are the ones who decide what is important to show others. Get those amazing writing skills going and write the things that interest you. Those who are interested will follow. Stop watching the trending page and focus on what it is you want to make the blockchain about.

Hang tight you g man, the world is out there and you will tame it soon.

I look forward to seeing what all you do. I have been cheering you on since I first read your introduction. You are an amazing writer and that will help you with the dtube videos. Promise.

Don't give up @nonsowrites .. You will get use to it. Just keep pushing yourself.

No one is perfect in this world. so no need to worry about taking your voice.
We should be optimistic that everything will be good. Go ahead with enthusiasm and never think to give up this platform.
Thank you friend @nonsowrites

I also think the titles written by people here are very boring and set a boring tone for the content they have. Titles rarely ever stand out and neither do the thumbnails. They all look so sterilized and devoid of life. Have fun with your titles and people need to stop taking this place so seriously.

Yes, okay now relax a bit. Today you have worked very hard and have done a little bit. Then upload the video from tomorrow.😎😎

take it like a fun activity rather than a chore. if you dont feel like uploading just go around and enjoy other creator's content, leave an upvote or a comment if you feel like it.
its gonna take tie, like you said! things will look brighter, just take it easy!

·

Thanks for the tip. I will try my best to just have fun on the platform and not worry so much about things.

Cough 's OK, but don't give up. The future lies in this platform :))

Totally agree man. That's why I try to make my "typical" and honest-me content or future planned videos to be anything but about steemit and crypto xD because

  1. Theres people out there who know more than me and I'd just be asking more questions than providing any information

  2. I ain't as techy as others and I actually rather like more casual topics like video games, simple vlogs about someones life, learning and how to do things, or just jokes and tomfoolery.

I try to make the kinds of stuff I might consume, even if I wouldnt necessary call myself the same quality yet as the content I consume.

I think once we allow steem to become more diverse and heterogeneous in content that feeling you get and I get will go away.

Let's make it our own mini project in the #linkseven77 to spice it up and make cool content like the kind we would wanna see instead on the feed :>
