Cream eyeshadows are so easy to use, and you can create eye makeup looks with either just your finger, which is a very handy and quick tool, or with some eyeshadow brushes – whatever you prefer.
Tools You Will Need:
- Eyeshadow primer
- Cream eyeshadows (various colours)
- Eyeshadow brushes (optional)
Step 1 – Dab Some Eyeshadow Primer
Before applying eyeshadow, don’t forget to dab some eye primer to your lids. Depending on the primer, this can smoothen the skin on your lid, reduce discoloration and prevent the eyeshadow from creasing.
Use your fingers to apply the eyeshadow primer and blend it into the skin all over your lid from the lash line to the brows.
Step 2 – Apply Cream Eyeshadow
Cream eyeshadows come in various colours and even textures, such as matte and shimmer. I would recommend using cream eyeshadows that dry on their own (Revlon or Maybelline) so that they remain intact throughout the day, and you don’t have to worry about creasing.
First, apply a cream shimmer shadow on the main lid area and blend it with your finger. Use dabbing motions for the best result and slightly blend it into the crease too.
Next, apply the matte cream shadow with your finger or an eyeshadow brush to the outer corner and a bit through the crease to emphasise your eye shape. Use dabbing motions while using your finger or circular and windscreen motions while using a brush.
You can use a cream eyeshadow of any colour as an eyeliner too. Just use a small, pointed and dense eyeshadow brush, dip it into the cream eyeshadow, and apply it along the upper lash line.
As cream eyeshadows dry on their own, they are mess free!
Step 3 – Apply Mascara
To open the eyes and make your eye makeup pop, don’t forget to add a few coats of mascara.
