Freedom and Independence for West Papua!
The two largest gold mines in the world are in the Indonesian occupied region called West Papua.
The original people there were forced to sign an bill called 'The Act of Free Choice' in 1969 which handed over the countries sovereignty to Indonesia. The UN was involved with this. However recently the UN has finally accepted a petition of 1.8 million signatures for West Papuans to have a voice.
Australia trains troops for the indonesian military which directly affects original West Papuans.
A process of 'ethnic-cleansing' has been happening since before this time and has killed over 500,000 West Papuans.
There is a media blackout on the issue and only now are they slowly getting a voice.
Meanwhile, in Australia, priority = compostable straws. Does anyone wonder why I'm so cynical about this green wash activism when we have atrocities such as this and Manus and Nauru happening at our doorstep?

Freedom for the refugees on Manus and Nauru!
There have been documented cases of abuse on these islands where Australia sends its refugees. They can spend years here with little to no voice. Like in West Papua, limited media is allowed on these islands.
Here is the story of a man (Behrouz Boochani) that finally got his freedom after six years and dares to speak about his humiliations, having written a novel by text message.
