Incubating Duck Eggs Day 9, T - 19

in #dtube5 years ago

I candled all the Duck eggs again today. The shaded patch is a little bigger, I would say it's now around 58% of the egg. Most of the eggs now have a noticeable dark spot or two floating around in the shaded end.

The total weight is 2lb 3.7oz, the target weight is 2lb 3.34oz. So they are now +0.36oz above the target weight. Still well within limits.

Did I mention that I borrowed this incubator from a good farmer friend and he said..

It's pretty much set right where you need it. Don't mess with it.

I'm thinking he was right.

Farm Rule: Leave it the way you found it! (excluding the obvious exceptions, the Goats got out et.al.)

If you're visiting a farm make sure to leave it the way you found it. In other words, that gate was open or that light was on for a reason. You may not know or understand the reason but if you make a change, you may close off the Cows from getting to their water or stop the Chickens from laying eggs.

I will be back in another three days with a weight update and a candle photo or two.

When the eggs start to hatch I will live stream it on vimm.tv on our Mean Rooster Farm LIVE! channel. Make sure to check out the live feed, we currently have a "Puppy Cam" with six, 9 day old PUPPIES! Their eyes should be opening any time now, then the live puppy cam feed will be much more exciting. The LIVE Goats, Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Dogs and Cats are pretty entertaining, even if the puppies aren't yet.
