The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Genesis 5, DTube Video #4
Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.
Continuing with Genesis 5:13-16
We will also start learning numbers (at the end of the video).
We left off in chapter five with the birth of Mahalalel and that he fathered Kenan, then had lived another 840 years before his demise. Our reading continues through Mahalalel fathering Jared (Yared) at the age of 65, had other sons and daughters, and was dead at the age of 895 years old.
There is not a lot I can write about the continuation of generations, but if you make it to the end of the video you will see why YHVH is echad and why a soul is echat.
People were living a good 800-1000 years each.
As promised, I put together a beginners guide to numbers. One to ten for now. I read through the written numbers for counting people and things at the end of the video.
Since there are a lot of numbers in the ages of people, this is a good opportunity to see them in use and hear the difference.
Reminder: each letter is also a numeral like our 1, 2, and 3. In Hebrew those are for numbering verses or books...
