In psychology, there are cognitive effects that happen to a person in certain situations.

People are constantly choosing from several options. When there is nothing to choose from, the choice is obvious. But it upsets us, because we are not given freedom of choice.
It seems that it will be better if we have a lot of opportunities to choose.
For example, in a supermarket will not two or three species apples, but ten.

But in reality, with more choices, we experience less satisfaction.
Starting from a certain number of opportunities our pleasure from the chosen thing falls. It becomes difficult for us to compare and it is difficult to choose one thing. We are simply lost in the abundance of opportunities. We fall into a stupor.
We are less satisfied with our choices than if we had chosen from a small number of options.

There are several reasons for this phenomenon.

1. When there are many opportunities, we assume that somewhere there is always something better than the one that we have chosen. That is, imaginary alternatives reduce our satisfaction.

2. We also understand that choosing one thing, abandoned all the others. When these other things are many, our enjoyment of the chosen thing falls.

3. Growth of our expectations. We know that there are more opportunities in the world, and we think that they are getting better. So we decide that: Yes, now we have this good thing, but in a short time it will not be as good as other new things.

So, it turns out that the more freedom of choice we have, the less satisfaction we get from our choice. If not able to make this choice with such an abundance of possibilities.
