Hello everyone! I am still sick in bed, but this gives me more time to learn about Dtube platform! I think it is AMAZING!!!
Honestly, why do we even bother with youtube these days? I started 4 years ago, producing high quality videos to help people learn how to cook and to teach them about my culture of Russian and Latvian Cuisine! But what do I get out from it? Nothing!
Dtube makes it easy to upload short or long videos for everyone to see my work. Not only that, but i get payed several bucks for each video! I get paid only 100 $ on youtube for a month!!!!!
If you are starting new channel, new blog , don't waste your time on youtube as much! - START posting on DTUBE!!

It might be good, but as long as you can't delete your videos after some time, there won't be many that will use it unfortunately.
why would you wanna delete your videos thou?
There can be countless reasons, but i can give you my friend as an example which is on steemit and not D-tube. He made a intro post for 6 months ago where he wrote he's full name and today because you can easily find the post on google if you write he's name, so he are today in a circumstances that have to remove he's full name from the post for personal reasons. I can of course not tell you why here, but it's important him in his situation today. The fact is that you can't delete/edit after some time, i can't really see the good idea behind it, at least if you could edit it. Otherwise i love steemit :-)
i agree that education is needed for people to understand that nothing is ever removed from a blockchain and the concept of an open public ledger is not understood by everyone, that's on the published thou, not the platform. educate yourself on the platform and it's caveats before posting because dtube/blockchain is lightyears away from the upload and delete of youtube. valid comment thou, people need to understand the difference.
yeah def i tell everyone straight away that its a blockchain and that nothing gets deleted! :D its good perhaps we need to post about this and raise an issue!
well dtube won't add deleting that's for sure, but a box that comes up warning before posting could be done easily.
The thing is that even if you think about it twice before you posting today, you can get in a situation after 6 months / 1 year etc. where you simply HAVE to delete / edit it.
that's your opinion and i respect that. but it's not mine. if you put anything on the internet in a public decentralized way and you don't understand how that content is spread around the world via nodes you don't have recourse in x amount of time after it.
education is key my friend. people have to accept it that it's on them and that the internet system is not going to hold their hands along the way, be smart about the way you use technology or technology can end up controlling you ;)

In my understanding, it is not the videos that are on the blockchain, but the pointers to the videos. The video is stored on another server. It should be relatively easy to remove the video, only the pointer would remain, linking then to a 404 error. I am pretty sure it would be easy for developpers to route then to a page saying that the video doesn t exist anymore... it is the same for dsound, however for steemit text posts, i think these are engraved in the blockchain.
yah thats actually true! prob that is the case with the vdeo platform!
am yet to try the DTUBE, it is getting my attention. But am so use to Youtube.

Alla, I finally posted my first dtube vid yesterday. I had some problems but figured it out. Does dtube work the same as Steemit posts - only earn revenue in first 7 days? how far back can you search in dtube? It would be nice to have playlists or something. I am just learning and hope to build up an audience in dtube. Yea, Youtube needs some competition. Vidme just died. Hope you feel better. Tess xx00
yea its the same as steemit, and 7 days and not deletable! they are still in beta stage, but yes of course would be nice to have playlists not yet ! thanks still feel ill how are you? xx

Great post, I already post my videos here on Steemit, when I tried to post my video on Dtube It also uploaded that post on Steemit also, something I wasnt aware off, so from my understanding I should only post my videos In one place or the other not both. Is this right?

Yes D-Tube is much better. I am still on youtube following my old channeld, but moving slowly to D-Tube and trying to find the same people I follow. It is really amazing and you get paid in Steem and get more Steem power. I think in the next 6 months we will see many people moving from Youtube to D-Tube, as well from Facebook to Steemit :)
