I have a room in a quiet condo shared with others I rarely see. I have use of a washer dryer and shared kitchen. My room has a balcony and the condo has a pool, restaurants, and shops that are all good and cheap. Outside the gate is more cheap food and shops and the Light Rail which is about 30 minutes to the center city, though I rarely go there.
After paying a fortune for bad places in California for years, I know how good I have it here :)
That seems nice and convenient... and you still get to keep the good weather :)
It's hot as can be now. We are in a heat wave and I am melting :)
For a compare and contrast I live in klang a half hour drive from KL with no traffic, which is rarely possible, but I digress. Rent is 300usd car payments n gas easily another 300usd then at least another 400 for life stuff and food for my wife and I. This is for comfortable living nothing lavish.. So about 1000usd.. If living single maybe 7-800 but not a penny would be saved and there would be no way to have any hopes of longevity or security..
More compare contrast the migrant workers make it off of 300 USD a month and and minimum wage here is about 260USD but there is no regulations on work hours..
Smaller older housing can be 150usd and room sharing cramped conditions down to 75usd...
In California I was making 70k and breaking even..
Also @fitinfun I pay under 30usd a month for umobile and have unlimited data, if tethering it's 30gb.. Astro or maxis is expensive though for sure, but so is 🍻 lol somethings are a must 😂
