Knowing Venezuelan traditional-popular music. Today's song: "Venezuelan Flag"

in #dsound6 years ago

It is a pleasure for me to present today's song in this musical field: Venezuelan Flag. In this case, it is a song that has two parts, a first that is a Sangueo and a second that is a Beaten and Corrido. In this opportunity, the song is interpreted by Ilan Chester jointly with the Venezuelan group Los Vasallos del Sol.

This song, originally, was part of a Musical Work recorded by the Venezuelan group LUANGO in an album titled Luango es Nuestra Música. The informant of the first part, that is, the Sangueo was Ángela Castillo, singer of the Veroes Municipality in Yracauy, while the town of Veroes was, to a large extent, the informant of the second and third part, the Beaten and the Run. The musical compilation of all these traditional Venezuelan songs was made by the Luango Group at the beginning of its artistic development as a traditional Venezuelan group. This type of musical manifestations are part of folklore, culture and oral tradition where there is no authorship as such and, at the same time, identity elements of the homeland, the telluric, the land are evident. It is in this type of traditional manifestation that the cultural referents of the Venezuelan people value themselves, especially in these times of crisis like the present ones.
