Today's dream: Millions excited over a bible reading

I was in a city in Europe, walking about with my friends and family, when somebody told me that there would be a certain event. I was extremely excited about the event and told them that regardless of the price, as long as it was less than 900 dollars, they had to get me a ticket to get in.

In my head, it was some sort of gala or party where tons of high-class people would be and I had decided that it would be an investment that I would recover in terms of the contacts that I would get in there.

When we arrived, it was a square greyish building with polished flooring. Outside, there were stairs to go to the upper levels. It reminded me of the building where I studied, which has stairs outside as well:

In my dreams, there are usually many passages, stairs and ways to get into different places, and I tend to get lost. I didn't get lost this time, though. There was a crowd outside waiting to get in, waiting in queues. There were various levels of tickets that could be gotten and I had gotten a medium-low one, standing on a balcony to the back, where I was barely able to see the hosts.

However, when we got in, there was a way to get to the front balcony from the back one. That one was much more expensive, but there seemed to be free passage for some reason. I simply went there and waited for my friend to come. She was all excited and smiling. I looked around and it was very dark, like a discotheque, with coloured lights flying around and people chatting very comfortably. There were no places to sit. Everyone was standing against the railing, leaning back against a wall or standing and socialising.

At the front of the concert hall (it seemed like a mixture of a concert hall, a disco and a stadium), there was an ample stage with a table where the readers would sit. I was excited to see them come out when my friend asked me if I had read Leviticus. I told her that I hadn't and she laughed, telling me that she had reminded me multiple times to read the whole section of the bible.

The dream changed not long after and I was standing by a sunny cabin in the middle of a forest. There was some sort of wise old man in it, but I don't remember much about it until I woke up.

This dream made me think of a few things in modern society. When we think of an event that calls for millions of people to want to see it, and for people to pay expensive tickets to get in, we usually think of sports, celebrities, fashion, political events, etc., but I've never heard of a professor garnering such a following and filling concert halls just to read their interpretation of a text.

Some of my favourite moments, to memory, were spent in lectures about books, philosophy and literary theory. I don't think I'd ever pay or travel to see a sports event or almost any musician, but for this, I may want to. Seeing the Bible as a piece of literature with great cultural significance, I would be very excited to go to an event where a professor would be presenting some theories for interpreting it as such and comparing it to other texts.

It would also be funny to have teenagers not be excited about going to the disco but instead eager to run to an "intellectual" affair.
