Aye Matey! Well, actually it is based on the Pacific, the water near Tonga, which I saw in the adventure story movie, "Nym's Island," starring Meryl Streep and Gerard Butler, the widowed father of Nym. The pirate ship was actually a modern cruise ship from Australia.
