It seems (now at least) to be more about paying for upvote/follow/reblogs (via bots or whales) to get any serious traction. Time again I have seen amazing content net $10 with hundreds of upvotes, yet mediocre content which allocated SBD/Steem for 'promotion' earns 50x with 90% of its value is from a couple paid whales and upvote/reblog bots
