The Old Door In The Wall - DoorTuesday - SevenDaysOutside Challenge
Today is #doortuesday steemians, let's see some amazing doors from around the world.
This is a part of a fortress wall built in medieval times, renovated several times while keeping the original style. Look at the wall, how thick it is and you can judge for yourself if it was efficient or not.
I've been thinking about how did people use this door back in the day, when the wall was built. It's not very high, I guess one had to bend over to go in and it's not very high either. My explanation is that this door was made so narrow for defense purposes but this is just a guess.
Check out my #SevenDaysOutside Challenge!

Another explanation for the size of the door would be the fact that it kind of forces people to show their humility (if it's the door of a church or monastery). Or maybe it was intended as a secret door?
Cool shot, by the way. 👍
Thank you dear Roxy! I tend yo believe it was kind of secret. It's not the monastery door.
