Lincoln is on guard, and this Baby is safe!
When My Daughter first brought my Grandson home, her long haired Dachshund, Lincoln, thought she had brought him the best present EVER! He began guarding Merrick the second he arrived. Merrick had his first Birthday last week, and Lincoln is Still guarding his new present!
When I went to see Merrick on his birthday, I had Lincoln trying to get between Merrick and I all day, ROFLOL!
@willymac told me dogsofsteemit just had to see this picture, so here it is. This is Lincoln guarding Merrick while they both sleep:

Merrick has a wonderful experience ahead of him as he grows up having Lincoln as a big part of his daily life. All children should be so fortunate!
So very true, and I suspect they will get in more trouble together; than they ever would have apart! This pairing is sure fun to watch, ROFLOL! They are going to have a great time together!

Yes, he already has a great time with them, it is cute to watch them play. I have a nephew who is scared of dogs, and that is not a good thing.
But Merrick thinks they are a hoot, and they play for hours, ROFLOL!

Hi is being taught that lesson for sure! They also have a cat. So he gets a good sample of animals to love him, and for him to pet.

They are really bonded, Very good friends! It is fun to watch them play, even though Merrick is not walking yet. He is just one year old, and sometimes he walks by leaning on Lincoln!
:)It's beautiful when kids get the chance to grow up with a dog. Dogs are often the best friends, the best kittens and the best playmate. 👌😉
He has also done a pretty good job of guarding Merrick

Lincoln has sure accepted the babysitting role! He watches Merrick all the time ( 24 / 7)!

They are tight already, not hindered by speech...yet. They play a lot already, it is cute!
