DOGS AT ANTELOPE ISLAND - Taking Baxter to the Great Salt Lake !
Sorry that my posting schedule has been all over the place! I have been having a lot of problems with Steemit the past couple of weeks, but am going to try and get a post up anyway! I don't want to deprive you of some cute puppy pictures!
Today we wanted to share some pictures of Baxter at one of our favorite places in Utah! Here is Baxter at Antelope Island State Park!
We love to take Baxter to Antelope Island, an island and State Park in the Middle of the Great Salt Lake. It is a great place to go see wildlife, to see the Great Salt Lake, and to take dogs! The park is very dog-friendly and Baxter loves wandering around the park.
Dogs aren't allowed on the beach by the water because it is so salty it would hurt their paws. The Great Salt Lake actually is 4 to 7 times saltier than the ocean! He does love the sand, though! He thinks it is fun to stick his paws in and enjoyed that it was warm!
They also have a ranch on the island! The island used to be a giant ranch and was part of the effort to save the buffalo population. The ranch is no longer used, but you can visit it together a little look at the history! Baxter has fun there too!
We are planning to take another visit to Antelope island this coming week! The weather is a little all over the place right now, but we have some warm days coming up and we want to take advantage of them. We feel so lucky to have such an amazing little dog-friendly island so close to our home! Especially since we live in a land locked state!
