Two new pieces for Makers Place as they launch out of Beta

in #dogs5 years ago

I've added two of my pieces as limited digital edition to Makers Place and of course they are Dog themed.

This piece, "Pug Macbeth" is part of my larger Singularity piece which is still in process. However, I loved this section so much that I knew it deserved to be it's own piece. I have shared it month's back when I was working on it. Now, thought, it is available (limited to 10) as a digital piece to own on the blockchain thanks to Makers Place amazing site.

You can get to this and some of my other work for sale digitally here

The second new offering is my work of my darling old dog, Sophie

This is also limited to 10 as well. I wasn't sure which pieces to share on Makers place and thus have included some of my figural work as well, such as this piece here. This was actually one of the pieces that I made early on in Steemit days as part of a contest/challenge. The patterning in her dress was taken from a pattern created by another artist and then interpreted this way as part of my take on it.

In many ways it is thanks to Steemit that I have returned to the female figure in my work.

Obviously my first love is animals, but I love to use the female form in a sort of 19th century portraiture approach. And the increase of digital blockchain galleries that have come about have made me all the more excited to be prolific in all the subject matter that I love.

I have included some of my black and white drawings as well, such as this piece, entitled "Ariadne's Drone". I consider it part of my Singularity series.

It is an exciting time for artists to create and sell.

Digital sales and art on the blockchain is just one of many of the ways we artists now have to sell our wares and work. We have come a long way from the days of being at the mercy of the gallery or word of mouth.

I truly believe we are in a commercial Renaissance for artists.

And places such as Makers Place are part of that happy change.

There are a few other steemit artists on there as well and I first heard about it from @reinhard-schmid. His Makers place page can be found here.

Another of my favourite fellow artists is @jungwatercolor and her makers place page is here.

There are other artists on here as well, so if you want put your link in the comments.

I hope you get a chance to check out my things as well as our other fellow Steemit artists there as well.

I hope you have having a lovely day and I am enjoying it for sure as the sun has been out all week!

Check out my other posts, if you like, and by all means upvote, resteem and yes leave comments!

I like both of them. Your dog arts are great and full with personalities, Donna :D.

How do you find Makers Place so far?

It's pretty good @scrawly . I've only sold a couple things, but as with any new thing it's what you put into it I suppose. They are just launching some new initatives so we shall see. I think I want to do super rare as well, as I see some other steemit artists on there.

Pug Macbeth ! Such a cool picture :D Now I want to see the entirety of this canvas EVEN MORE !!

And gosh, I should tend to my MakersPlace too, thank you for the reminder, Donna <3

The Sophie painting is really beautiful. Nonchalant and with a fine Chiaroscuro composition. And I love the ladies of course especially your black and white.
