DnW Poetry Contest #5: Even the Brightest of Stars can Implode
Infatuated by the back of her head,
Love goes beyond the physical form.
It’s a connection to the soul instead,
It’s the spark that starts an electrical storm.
Obsession with something apparently unknown,
Yet inside we feel a sense of knowing.
After long periods of being alone,
Fruit finally flowers from the seeds you’d be sewing.
But will the fruits that have flowered, last?
Or is this just a passing phase?
Perhaps they will wither and die - fast,
As infatuation passes and extinguishes those rays.
The beams of light that once seem to shoot from her whole.
Lighting the night with as much strength as the moon -
I no longer see them shining from the depths of her soul.
As the infatuation passed over so soon.
