A little rant whilst I start up today's batch of buns. This morning I'm talking about sustainability, communities, what my dreams and goals in life are, and why you should consider getting a head start on growing your own food/raising your own animals before the #perfectstorm hits your country.

My video is at DLive

I could never eat a cat or a dog... but if the lake ever runs out of fish, your girls better watch their backs, I tell you what!!

Did I stutter?

Oooooh eww hhahaaaa. No, you didn't stutter, but I'm pretty sure Foghorn did.

I love your tiny kitchen! And you can make all the jokes you want, but you should eat all the buns you like. ;)
I agree with you about being more self-sufficient. And even if people really, truly believe they are safe in their country (I agree with you that no one is, but for the people who can't imagine), it's better for the environment and health as well! If you're not trucking things all over the world, you're not wasting all those resources. And the fresher food is, the more nutrients it has. Sure, there are some foods that don't grow everywhere and are now staples to us (I'm looking at you, coffee and cocoa powder in my cupboard), but if we could at least get as much as possible locally and treat those things more like luxuries, we'd be better off. I still kinda think of it as luxurious to have them, and they're in my protein shake every morning that keeps me sane my blood sugar happy. Unfortunately, I feel more vulnerable on this front with all my frikkin' allergies - a lot of things I could grow, I can't eat. If we lived closeby, I would grow you some broccoli and trade for eggs. ;)

·

I love how you grow as much as you can on your balcony, you are such an inspiration to anyone who thinks they can't grow, and you're learning so much too. Tree and Veggie Garden in the Sky! <3 <3 <3 <3

I hope one day we can trade Phe...I'm holding onto that vision...

·
·

<3 I am definitely learning a lot! Getting all my noob mistakes out of the way now, maybe. Ha!

That tiny kitchen...I don't think I can cook in it, especially not for a family.

As for the dreams, I do hope I can find a nice little community with land to boot. Growing food is a must. As for fuels and whatnot, I guess stockpiling is the only way, but I'd have to own a property first. lol

·

I'm glad you're planning and dreaming and aware of the need...hopefully with crypto your dreams will become reality!

Sustainability is the way to go. It takes more than you think though. I was prepared for a family of five, but ended up with 21! That definitely put a crinkle in the best-planned sustainability! But you learn to cope! My fondest dream/hope is that we get our family back together soon. Fingers crossed!

I love your tiny kitchen. Reminds me of mine. Not big but can produce the meals necessary! Second dream is to one day have a decent sized kitchen!

·

I'm praying for your family to be reunited, pronto. Thank you for always staying in touch Ceci!

excellent post!!! tell the world sister!! i just loved every bit of this, your words are so right on and a huge encouragement for me. “if i can do it you can too!” thank you for speaking from your heart and at the same time sharing your recipe and cooking. wow! talk about multitasking 🤣🤣🤣🤣

·

Thanks for the good vibes and the solidarity @eaglespirit!! :) :) That means a lot to me!

@lyndsaybowes i'm right there with you, and if i was in canada i'd start that community alongside you. you are amazing. got grit, leadership, inspiration, and kindness. i wouldn't have seen this if elemental hadn't posted it so i'm glad he did! for some reason i thought you just curated, so i hope to see more of these wonderful works. its encouraging to us who haven't made things with our own hands for a long time. i grew up doing many things (mostly eating from my families work) LOL! but helping too. looking forward to seeing you share more of your journey. blessings, ES

Asi es @lyndsaybowes debemos ya de aprender a tener en casa nuestro propios cultivos ya que muchas veces resulta muy dificil encontrarlos por diferentes motivos y como dices evitar #perfectstorm

I want a farm so bad.

Hope my three cents helps get you there.

·

Thank you so much @kryptik, so you live in the city now, or?

Do you grow?

·
·

I live in a small town. I grow a little bit in the backyard but I want some acreage. Livestock, bees, a garden, pretty much everything.

Good morning @lyndsaybowes! Bet that bread dough smells wonderful! The sound of the landline phone ringing was a pleasant nostalgic treat too!! Thanks for that <3 The land, trees, rocks, critters and air are calling me to steward them also. I will certainly spend the latter half of my life in that purpose. Enjoy recharging in all ways <3 LOVE & HUGS till next time.

·

I'm so glad the video worked for you Jill, YAY!! And you liked the landline sound too hehehe, I swear I'm the last person on Earth to not have a cell phone. I almost need one soon here...there are so many apps I can't use with a laptop.

I love the growing you are doing, it's been fun watching your gardens take shape through the summer <3 <3 You rock so much SiSTAR!!

I lost a lot of my belongings this summer due to this crazy landlord situation I won't get too into-- but I think among all the stuff I lost, I was most bummed about my homemade ACV!! It was my first time doing it and I was really excited.

The apartment I lived in from like 2015-2017 had a very similar kitchen, and it also happened to be the main entryway too. It sucked. I hope you get that farm one day! :) My plans to grow food this year got spoiled by the same BS situation aforementioned. Right now, I can't because my living situation is very temporary. I will though! Promise haha

·

Oh :( I'm so sorry to hear about all the shit you went through this summer, that's just not fair @herbertholmes. Thanks for sharing though, it makes me count my blessings. I hope everything gets better for you, pronto!

·
·

Oh I'm sure it will. I wouldn't even mind the situation I'm in all that much if it wasn't for doggo. He's a little more confused. But, yeah, it will :) Thank you for your kind words

Im so exhausted and overwhelmed by it that not even Steemit can distract me from this. Its full on idiocracy out here in the big cities. Its crazy same problems here. This is the softest landing ever in history i bet. Hopefully, just a simple shift can happen to where world currencies can be be adopted to have gold/silver backing. Yes it will be tragic to those without earth metals like gold and silver and cryptos it its a better solution than war but war of course will be what causes it or comes of it just based on human nature and history. Free the fair trade markets and abolish free trade. Prioritize Local economies not global ones! Thank you for letting me know im not alone in zombie land!

·

Thank you so much for "getting it" @dynamicgreentk. I am so glad that you are preparing, and trying to raise awareness in others as well.

There are more wonderful delights that come out of that tiny kitchen than Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker combined. Why, because cooking and baking come from the heart. You are all heart. xxxxx P.S. let me know when we are painting it.

·

Thank you so much...aww, sniff...

As for painting it, what colour? I'm thinking sledgehammer... :) lolololololol

·
·

aha. just a nice creamy white in a semi gloss which can be wiped if needed. aha.

Very good honey, I really liked seeing you, I hope and I wish you the best so that you can fulfill your dreams and your goals

·

Thank you very much @osc10, and I hope you get all that you need in life as well.

·
·

It makes me feel good knowing that there are people like you, grateful

No margarine, stick to butter or lard. :)

I agree with you, there is a collapse coming. All empires in history fell, and the signs of the coming collapse grow clearer by the day. Hell, the corrupt leaders are intent on dragging us into it. My dreams are similar to yours. Get some land and begin working it like the alchemists of old. Have some semblance of peace with the world as bonds are formed with the surrounding nature that is our natural state of living. I have much to learn as far as self sufficiency, but am hopeful there is time to escape my debt, get some land and then trick my son and my girlfriends kids into living at least close enough that they can be pulled into the safety the land would provide.

I think many more are waking up to the fact food has been taken over, in fact much of what is sold as food really isn't anymore. Poisons with nutrients added. I love what this man took it upon himself to do some time back, and would love to see this become more of a thing in neighborhoods across the country.

Its awesome watching you make food not already prepared for you. My girlfriend is like that too. She loves to make tinctures and stuff. I call her my medicine woman, lol.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing your idea of a solution to the coming problems facing us all while preparing food not from a box or from the freezer.

·

What an awesome comment @practicalthought! I'm happy to know you are looking towards a similar future, and I have all faith you will be able to trick your son to come out to your land <3 hehehe!!

Synchronistic that you shared that Finley video with me, I had just posted about him on the ol fb yesterday <3 <3 What a hero!!

Ah well my dream is similar. We're hoping to make some of that dream come true by sometime next year. fingers crossed

·

I got my fingers and toes crossed for you guys! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Though I gotta say, you are doing brilliantly with what you have!!

Thanks. We make do with what we can.🙂
