The Daily Owl, Ep. 25: Is Political Action Really A "Pragmatic" Means By Which To Bring About Lasting Liberty?

I think perhaps it is time to flip some commonly held ideas in libertarian circles on their heads.

In this live broadcast, I'll be talking about the strange perception--which seems to be becoming alarmingly prevalent in self-labeled "libertarian" circles--of political action being some kind of "radical" and/or "practical" means by which to achieve a more libertarian life, as though no other viable options existed.

It is amazing how many intelligent libertarians still seem to believe that if the state is not involved, then the state cannot be successfully overcome by the individual.

It's funny. When we put out a fire, we use water. In this case, it's like a crowd of individuals obsessed with adding barrel after barrel of gasoline to the raging conflagration.

The statist programming runs deep, even in some of the most vocal proponents of individual liberty and freedom. As Sally Kempton said, "It's hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head."

Politics is antithetical to liberty. This simple fact is clouded only by years and years of propaganda in school and the media.

Your audio was always crystal clear, and the video came up around 4:30 minutes. I'm listening afterwards of course while I brew some mead.

I'm still not sure what the difference is between views and watching. One difference is whether the watcher has a steemit account and has logged into it though. People have to log into their account too to chat, right? You will see tons of people watching, but very few people will be in chat. It makes me nervous having to use my private active key to be on dlive, but... I've done it.
