Politics and sports should not interfere

Sad that the situation in Catalunya would have an influence on games played in any sport. But it appears to be very difficult not to let politics interfere with football. Especially with FC Barcelona, which is the icon of Catalunya it is hard to keep it outside of the stadium. So I understand the concerns of La Liga. It wouldn't be the first time that a war started with a football match. The war in Yugoslavia in the 90's exploded during and after the football game On May 13th of 1990 Dynamo Zagreb played at home against Red Star Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda). The riots already started before the game and eventually carried on on the pitch. There and then the full conflict of Yugoslavia was a fact.

Is it impossible to leave politics behind in a football stadium? I think it is... A club identifies with an area, a region or a nation, so it is always coloured with politics...

Sad but true.
