Bangladesh discovers first magnetite iron mine in Dinajpur

The Geological Survey of Bangladesh (GSB) today reported that they found the nation's first attractive mine or iron metal at Dinajpur's Hakimpur upazila. "A 400-foot thick iron layer has been found at a profundity of 1,330 feet and the layer extends over a zone of 6-10 square kilometers," GSB's Deputy Director Mohammad Masum said while making the earth shattering declaration at a question and answer session in the north-western locale.
