Patriots couldn't host "MNF" games in 1980s because fans drank too much
Patriot games use to be a disaster for opposing teams. It was not the team that was the problem in the 1980s, it was the fans and their consumption of alcohol. The team could not hold Monday Night Games because there was too much drinking going on.
