Interview with Luis Cuadrado, SM2 Coach - Calasancias
**How do you face this year as the first coach of the SM2 team?**
After last year's experience as second coach, this year is the continuation of the previous work, developing a medium-term project to achieve a high level of male volleyball in the city. It is a personal challenge, with the luck that there is a large group of people around who live and work with the same illusion.
**Do you think the team has been strengthened this year with the players renewed and signed?**
I think the team is more competitive than last year, and in addition to the important contribution of the players renewed last year, we have managed to strengthen the group in key positions, which allows us to be a more homogeneous group. The team is stronger this year.
**How is the pre-season plan you're carrying?**
We are doing a very long pre-season, in which we have been able to work a little on the individual technique in August, and it is also giving us time to work on team tactics. In addition, we have been able to schedule the physical preparation since mid-August, which I hope will be noticed once we start the competition.
**How should the team play to get the desired victories?**
We have to believe that we can play, and above all we have to be able to maintain concentration throughout an entire set, without having ups and downs in our game. Our main problem is that we make a lot of unprovoked mistakes, so in addition to our points we also make those of the opponent. If we reduce our mistakes and are able to play with speed in attack we will be a very interesting team.
**Is there a specific goal for the SM2 team in this first year?**
The objective of this team should be to reach the level of play sufficient to escape the relegation positions. It is not an easy task, as almost all the teams in our competition have been reinforced with semi-professional players, but with work and mentalization is an objective that we have to set and fight to achieve.
**For the quarry is a great reference to have a team in the second category at the national level in Spain, how do you think the smallest live to have a team of these characteristics?**
It is essential that this team serves as a reference for the other categories, so another of the objectives of this team is to promote the illusion of the base to reach him. It is very important that all of us who form this club work to create the illusion of our base to continue and enjoy with our SM2 team, so we must bring the team to the base and promote it.
