Perhaps the Police

Should NOT be allowed to carry guns?
.......................................................................................................................................................................

  • In Mesquite, Texas, 31-year-old Lyndo Jones was shot by police last week. He was unarmed. His car alarm had gone off and he was sitting in his own car trying to figure out how to turn it off when police claim they thought he was an armed and dangerous criminal trying to steal a car. Turns out the alarm was broken. [Breanna Edwards / The Root]
    .
According to a written statement from Jones’ lawyers, officers asked him to exit the vehicle. He did, and seconds later, officers shot him in the stomach. They then tried to perform an anal cavity search, an altercation ensued, and they shot Jones in the back. The police department denies these allegations, but hasn’t explained how an unarmed man in his own vehicle ended up in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. [Claire Cardona / Dallas Morning News]
    .
Jones survived the gunshots, but police chained him to the hospital bed and kept him from his loved ones for a week until his family secured attorneys for him. [Melanie Schmitz / ThinkProgress] The Mesquite Police Department charged Lyndo with “evading arrest,” but the charges have since been dropped. [Tanya Eiserer / WFAA]

Sad to say, but this isn't surprising. The Supreme court had already said that police aren't subject to the "Protect and serve," description that's written on their cars. They've also decided that the police can search your car, your cell phone, and even testify against yourself.
In short, the Supreme court has decided that the bill of rights doesn't apply to citizens, but do apply to illegal aliens.
Personally, I think that the police should be stripped of the military hardware, should have to take crisis de-escalation classes, and should return to the "protect and Serve."

The Supreme Court also decided that the Police are under no obligation to protect you.
Tell me again why we have them?

Beats me (literally). Revenue generation for the city.

I so badly want a dashboard cam setup. I occasionally catch undue scrutiny

Holy Hell! "Protect and Serve the Shit Outta You!" Do you have a link to a news story for this? I would like to read more. I clicked the blog link but there wasn't a whole lot more there.

Good Post homie.

what you see it what I got.
note that each paragraph has a reference
i.e. the Root, Dallas Morning News, and WFAA

I got ya. I'll go research it when I get a chance later. Mesquite is closer to Dallas about 4 hours from here. But still Texas.

I always considered Mesquite to be part of the DFW metroplex.

Jesus! Unfucking believable.
Militarized police making America safe.... another war on drugs success

Omg, what is this world that we live in? I am so afraid of people's stupidity sometimes. These guys from the police should have periodic psychologic examns and iq tests. And each of them should be pass or get fired...

pretty soon there wouldn't be any police.

Step one, don’t go to Texas! Step two o no sudden moves.

Good plan.
Don't come to Texas.

Sadly Texas purports itself as one of the more Free states in the Union. But the "good ol' boy system" is very much alive and well here. That includes law enforcement.

In fact law enforcement has lobbied AGAINST every every single gun or knife bill that has come up in the legislature for the last 30 years.

It was a sad day when the standards for the police were drastically lowered back in the seventies. you can't really blame the police. They're just not up to the job. Kinda like expecting a chihuahua to pull a husky's sled.

Criminal eventually died too 😁😁👋

I bet those warrior cops were trained in Israel. There seems to be a concerted effort to turn our peace officers into paramilitaries as part of the war on terror racket.

This news makes me so so SO angry with the entire institution that is supposed to keep us safe.

Sadly it doesn't even surprise me. This is Texas. And because I'm black this is something I have to actually think about on a regular basis when it comes to police.

hold on to that victim hood.
It's important.

I'm not a victim. I live in fear of no man.

good attitude.
a victim mentality is the equivalent of concrete overshoes.
it'll pull you DOWN
