I'm a retired trucker. 25 years...2.5. MILLION miles. Federal laws says that a trucker can't work more than ten hours at a time...because...ya know...we might make a mistake and KILL someone if we get too tired.

well yeah they work absurdly long shifts from time to time but cops and doctors usually only kill one person at a time when they fuck up, not a whole busload. And when they fuck up it does not snarl traffic all morning.

Cops in Toronto work 4 shifts each 12 hours long per week. I think with trucking vs policing, is that trucking can get boring and mundane, depending where you're driving. Some roads are long straight and nothing changes much for many hours. Whereas, at least an active on duty cop, is getting a change of scenery constantly.
if a tired trucker is a dangerous trucker...
