NASA is a money hole. If it had tried to develop a rocket as powerful as the Space-X Falcon Heavy it would have spent billions of dollars instead of a few hundred million.

I just thought it was worth mentioning. Even when tax dollars are sent to a private company, the private company can and often does put that money to very good use. I'd argue better than the government itself trying to handle the research and development.

Indeed. I prefer FedEx or UPS to deliver my packages and mail rather than USPS. The mail bitch here is called that aptly because she's earned the title. I've stood in the doorway with the door wide open waiting for a package (can't hear the door bell and the like), mail bitch drives up to the box, puts in some letters, then a moment later a pink slip then drove off. The pink slip read "Knocked, nobody home".
yup...typical government.
