Be Brutally Honest

in #determine5 years ago (edited)

Being brutally honest is something that we, as both individuals and as a society tend to avoid.

We tend to sugar coat problems. We sugar coat our delivery in talking about these problems and we thus, we lose sight of reality.

Fat shaming has become a thing in today's society.

People are actually saying that you should be proud of the way you look, even if you're 100lbs over the proper weight that someone of your height and age.

Look, you shouldn't go around shitting on peoples' feelings and calling them fat.

But you also shouldn't go around telling them that it's ok to be fat.

It's not ok to be fat.

It's not ok to sugar coat our shortcomings and pretend like they don't exist.

Being fat is extremely unhealthy.

So is sugar coating just about everything else in life. When you do this, you create a false sense of reality and comfort for people.

You tell people that it is ok to do something that is literally killing them from the inside out.

Be brutally honest with yourself.

Are you doing what you need to be doing to achieve your dreams? Are you doing everything in your power to live your best life and achieve everything you set out to achieve?

If you're brutally honest, you'll probably find a lot of holes in your day. You'll find a lot of downtime that could otherwise be spent making your dreams reality. Don't waste that time by being comfortable!
