The prophecy of Simeon: This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many is Israel, Luke 2:34

The Gospel of Luke tells us one of the most important events in the childhood of the child Jesus, the presentation of Jesus in the temple of Jerusalem and the account of the prophecy of Simeon, a prophecy not only intended for the child but also for his mother Mary, the first person devoted to Jesus. The prophecies in the Bible are very important, because the prophecy does not have its origin in the will of man, but is a gift from God. And Jesus was, like many prophets in the Bible, a predestined person from his conception; and Simeon's prophecy is a manifestation of the mysteries of the Kingdom of God that reinforce the authority and mission of Jesus.
The gospel of Luke tells us that after being circumcised, Jesus had to be presented before the Lord in the temple, because according to the law of Moses the firstborn are consecrated to God: "Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether human or animal" Exodus 13:2.
And it was there, in the Temple, that Simeon, led by the Holy Spirit, as recounted in the Gospel of Luke, met Jesus. Simeon was a devoted man of the Lord, who was filled with the spirit of wisdom, and God, who in his mercy (compassion, kindness) cares for those who follow his ways, had promised Simeon that he would not die before meeting the child Jesus, called Immanuel in the prophecies of Isaiah; and after blessing Jesus and his family, he gave the prophecy from God to Mary.
So were the words of Simeon addressed to the family of the child Jesus:
"This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too" Luke 2:33-35.
