Bear Time - Daily Pet Photography Event - Day - 442.

Our baby Bear turned 3

at the end of January. He was ten months old when we got him. All bones, only 45 pounds, and for months he gained no weight. Now he's filling out. It took forever!

Prince at ten months was already 60 pounds; now he's closer to 90 pounds, if not more. He kept growing in his third year. Taller, wider, stronger, and possibly obese.

Bobi the Bad is biting Mariel's ankles daily, the little brat, for no reason we can discern. And, door open or door shut, he'll come around in the night complaining loudly about his confinement to this house. Or whatever his complaint may be. He wants room service 24/7. He doesn't even tip the maid. Perhaps he needs to be humbled.

Like this poor ginger tom, flea-bitten and mangy, who we rescued from death's door. He was living at a horse barn, age 12, neglected, but we took him home, took him to the vet, and he lived two happy years with us. We had to put him down at age 14. Tom was the cat of all cats, a John Wayne among cats, while Bobi the Bad is more like PeeWee Herman.

Little Bear, we love you!

Bobi just needs some love and understanding and maybe 10 years to change his ways :-)

Oh, he gets nothing but love and forgiveness and slavish attention from Mariel - the youngest family member, the one he bites! He never attacks anyone else's ankles but hers. She dotes him, her little BFF (best friend forever). The rest of us cave in to his demands most of the time. I'm the one who locks him in the sun porch at night. Mariel is the one who lets him out. And sure enough Dawn Patrol will have Bobi howling at our door. Open or shut, he still caterwauls at us. Ten more years, he'll be 16 or more years old... Mariel wants him to live to age 30. We keep hoping he'll die peacefully in his sleep. {{----in her future home. when the cat is 30.}}

Cats do not like closed doors.. Those are love bites :-)

Oh, we know he hates closed doors! And like all cats, he loves to straddle two rooms at a time. "My Territory is Big." But I never didn't know his biting was a sign of affection. Seriously?? I'd hate to see biting out of anger!

It's a love bite when he doesn't bite down hard.

Mariel says it hurts - and she googled it yesterday and saw that cats will regard humans as their prey, sometimes - so I don't know what to make of Bobinksi, other than labeling him Bobi the Bad. He is such a complainer. Always yowling and making noise about something. I'd love to return him to the wild! He was five months old when scooped up by the pound, and for three months nobody adopted him, until he learned to keep his mouth shut long enough to get himself a home. sigh I take full blame for this creature in my house! He let us hold him; he purred for us and head-butted our chins; we believed him to be a sweet little fellow. Bwa ha ha ha!!!!!

Sorry he's not all that you anticipated. They are all different. I try to draw on their good traits.

That you do!
The Love-Hate thing with Bobi is not all that earnest. He evicted a beautiful Maine Coon and persecutes any other cat who ventures near. I cannot deny the cuteness of this wicked little cat named Bobinski. But I publicly malign him because he has it coming. :)
